As you turned around and walked into the darkness of the night…
The meager luminescence shown glimpse of your face,
I faintly called your name,
both in hopes you would keep walking in ignorance, but yet, stop in confirmation…
you stopped, silently turned…
it was an arduous task, to look you in the eye…
The internal altercation then ensued,
Finally, I managed a nervous and indecisive..
“No, nevermind.”
“No, go ahead…” you responded inquisitively.
“Its nothing…”
I stared at my boots as leaves rustled at my feet…
The crisp winter’s breeze cut through my sweater
as I turned around and got into my car…
I glanced through my rear view mirror
In time to see you turn, and walk away…
Looking down at my hands, trembling in my lap…
I thought to myself.. I couldn’t do it…

I Almost told you, “I Love You…”
